S&P yearly return rage: ~9.5% (it's been higher recently, but let's discount it by inflation and assume conservatively)

That means you would need to put $6000/year into the S&P for 16 years to make a total of $250,000. Or, you could dump $60,000 in it today and let it sit for 16 years.

So in other words, if you put 10% of the median US income into a decent investment index, you could afford this Cadillac when it came out.

"The cars are offered with a six-speed manual transmission that includes a new feature Cadillac calls "no-lift shift." Drivers will be able to keep their foot flat on the floor, rather than lifting off the accelerator to change gears."

Fuck this. That is all.
